The answer to this question has become particularly relevant as working women continue to navigate the coronavirus pandemic: numerous studies have shown that women report higher levels of burnout than men and take on more responsibility for care while balancing their work.
Women also continue to earn less than men, as women working full-time in the United States are still paid 82 cents for every dollar a man earns, according to the Ministry of Labour.
By comparison, a workplace culture and compensation platform ranked the best businesses for women work in 2021 on the basis of more than 15 million evaluations of current employees in 70,000 companies.
The reviews were written between November 2020 and November 2021 and answered questions on career development, compensation, benefits and other topics for each organization. Sample questions: “Do you feel exhausted at work? And “Do you think you get paid fairly?” ”
Leading large women’s businesses have several important characteristics in common, including competitive parental leave policies and a clear commitment to diversity and inclusion, as well as female leadership, said Jason Nazar, co-founder and CEO of Comparably, at CNBC Make It.
âOrganizations as a whole are improving their environment for female employees compared to three or five years ago,â said Nazar. “But more companies need to take action and make changes to their compensation policies, benefits and hiring practices to retain women.”
He adds: âEmployees don’t expect perfection, they just want to see a real commitment to improvement – and I think when people see that happening they feel really good about their business and want also be part of this change. “
