Bajaj Allianz Launches Global Health Care Insurance Policy


NEW DELHI: Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has launched “Global Health Care”, a comprehensive health insurance product that provides cover to an insured for planned and emergency treatment in India and overseas.

“Many of us want to look into international treatment options for our loved ones and ourselves, but we rarely opt to do so given the massive expense expected, and it can potentially reduce an individual’s life savings” , said Tapan Singhel, MD and CEO, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance.

Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has worked with Allianz Partners to provide a seamless claims experience for policyholders.

Global Health Care offers one of the largest sums insured in the Indian market, starting at 37,50,000 to 3,75,00,000 ($100,000 to $1,000,000). The product is available with two plans – “Imperial Plan” and “Imperial Plus Plan” which provide international and domestic coverage. The Imperial Plus plan is a premium variant with a higher sum assured.

National coverage for “Imperial Plan” and “Imperial Plan Plus” provides inpatient treatment, pre and post hospitalization expenses with benefits such as ambulance (air and road), day care procedures , living donor medical expenses, modern treatment methods and technological advancements, mental illness treatment and rehabilitation, among others. An additional feature of nationwide coverage is that it also provides Ayurvedic/homeopathic hospitalization as a feature. additionally, when undergoing domestic treatment, the patient may choose to opt for transfer to the best international facilities available for their condition, the firm said.

International coverage offers dental coverage (optional), integrated OPD coverage and other enhanced features such as hospital allowance, palliative care, medical repatriation, repatriation of remains, accommodation expenses for a parent staying with an insured child, air ambulance and medical evacuation and emergency care outside the coverage area, among others. International coverage also offers a voluntary deductible of nil/$500/$1,000 on a global basis, which reduces the premium payable. These covers also provide for an annual preventive health check integrated during each renewal cycle.

Global Health Care offers policyholders the option of choosing between worldwide coverage, including the United States, and worldwide coverage excluding the United States. This product is offered to Indians residing in India with sum assured available on an individual basis for a period of cover of 1 year. The entry age for adults is 18-65 and for dependent children 3 months to 30 with a lifetime renewal option. Reimbursement and cashless claim options are available within the Global Health Care product. Premium starts from 39,432 excluding GST provided with an EMI facility for premium payment on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis. An additional 5% discount will apply if two or more family members choose the policy, the firm said.
